I imagine I could take the hard drive out of the old Time Capsule and remount it, or add a USB or maybe a Firewire connection to it in its current housing, but my first choice would be to connect it to my iMac or my new Time Capsule with its existing Ethernet or USB ports. Please check if Windows can successfully ping the Time Capsule. If Windows 10 can ping the Time Capsule, then check if Windows 10 can access the Time Capsule via \\the IP address of the Time Capsule. 1. Apple Time Capsule. 2. Apple Airport Extreme plus an Western Digital external USB drive? Does the Airport Extreme provide enough power to power a Western Digital Passport? The reason I consider Option 2 is because I already have an USB driver and I can partition part of it for Time Machine and part for photo storage. I have a 4 ports USB HUB from Logitech that I've been trying to use with Time Capsule. The HUB has its own power supply. However, when I plug the HUB into TC and then attach some peripherals such as external disks, the TC doesn't see the disks correctly. One of the disk is formatted for Mac and doesn't show up.
